On this page: Coronado Beach (Central Beach), Coronado Dog Beach and Silver Strand State Beach.
The island's showpiece: a huge, flat, mica-sparkled strand backed by Ocean Boulevard mansions and the Hotel Del's red turrets, perennially ranked among America's best beaches. Free street parking on Ocean Blvd if you're patient.
★ 4.7 · Beach & Shoreline · Ocean Blvd at Sunset Park (north end), Coronado, CA 92118
The leash-free stretch at the far north end of Ocean Blvd, right against the Naval Air Station fence — one of San Diego's happiest patches of sand. Rinse stations and bags at the Sunset Park entrance.
Two beaches in one down the Strand: ocean surf on one side, warm calm Crown Cove bay water on the other, linked by pedestrian tunnels. Fire rings, big parking lots, and far fewer crowds than Central Beach.
